It is therefore the Aim of the Information & Communication Technology Department to ensure that all pupils develop an Information Technology Capability. This is more than simply being good at using the computer. The acquisition of I.C.T. capability consists of four aspects:-
Facilities:
The faculty has three large dedicated ICT classrooms for use by year 7 to 11 students and a smaller ICT room for use by the sixth form
Each classroom is equipped with an overhead projector and an interactive whiteboard
All computers connect to the school network meaning that students can access their work from any computer
All students have access to a filtered Internet service
Other computers are to be found around the school either individually or in suites for use by separate students or whole classes
Software
All computers are installed with the Complete Microsoft Office Professional 2003 suite and therefore have access to the following software - Word Processor - Microsoft Word ,Spreadsheet - Microsoft Excel ,Database - Microsoft Access ,Presentation Software - Microsoft PowerPoint ,Desk Top Publishing - Microsoft Publisher.In addition several other specialist software applications are used including, ,Macromedia Dream-weaver, Macromedia Flash ,Macromedia FireWorks ,Flow-ol ,Microsoft Movie Maker & Scratch
